Velocity DC

In early October, Velocity DC Dance Festival featured "Bodies in Urban Spaces". It was an amazing and whimsical jaunt starting at the Navy Memorial and ending at Sidney Harman Hall, across from the Verizon Center.

It's pacing was perfect and during the hour long street performance, often just one or two performers would be together and they would fan out over a couple of streets before doing a larger piece. This brought more people into the fold and energized the street wherever they went. People were asking strangers what was going on and then either keep about their way or join in.

It was made all the better by the extra pedestrian flow due to the Capitols home exhibition opener.

Here is a brief slide show at the church and click here for all the photos.
